The First Home Owner Grant (New Home) Scheme offers up to $10,000 to eligible first-time buyers who are purchasing or building their first home, provided that it meets certain criteria. To qualify, the home must be brand new, and the contract price cannot exceed $600,000. Moreover, you must move in within 12 months and live there for at least six consecutive months. Additionally, you must be over 18 years of age and an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
In addition to the First Home Owner Grant, eligible first-time buyers can also benefit from the First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme, which provides exemptions from transfer duty.
